Ardshinbank was the main sponsor of the “VMF
Vanadzor Half Marathon 2025,” held on September 14 in Vanadzor. This charitable
marathon was dedicated to the memory of Vahe Meliksetyan, a lecturer at the
Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Yerevan State Medical University, a
pharmacologist, and a scientist. Vahe Meliksetyan was killed during the 2020
Artsakh War.

The half marathon aims to promote a healthy
lifestyle, foster a sports culture in Vanadzor and other regions of Armenia,
and develop sports tourism in the country. The races were held over distances
of 5, 10, and 21 km, with around 400 runners of various ages and fitness levels
participating from eight countries, including Georgia, Russia, the USA, and
France. The event also featured a 1 km children’s race.
“The bank places great importance on promoting a
healthy lifestyle and sports. We not only sponsored but also participated in
the marathon, with several bank employees joining the runners. The half
marathon became not only a major sporting event but also contributed to
creating a positive atmosphere, strengthening team spirit, and fostering
collaboration,” stated the bank’s press release.
One of the highlights of the half marathon was
when a participant who completed the 21.1 km race proposed to their partner,
also a race participant, after crossing the finish line.
